RURI Blue: a blue that shines in the light
Ruri (瑠璃) is a traditional Japanese color name for the vivid, slightly violet blue of lapis lazuli. Lapis was one of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism, carried from faraway lands along the Silk Road, and highly prized. zelo RURI Blue is a bright, vivid blue inspired by the sparkle of this gemstone.
There's a Japanese proverb: "Lapis and crystal both shine when light falls on them." It means that talented people will always shine when given the chance. The same goes for girls who practice hard. Give her a stage, and she'll shine.

If she's between two sizes, we recommend sizing up. Kids grow fast, so she can wear it longer, and the stretchy fabric still keeps it close.
For a neater, cleaner look, choose the size that matches her current height. If it's too big, it can look loose when worn on its own.

Questions from Parents
Can it be worn on its own as a practice top?
Yes, it's designed to be worn on its own. The substantial 260 g/m² fabric isn't see-through, and paired with black shorts or leggings, she can head straight to the dance studio, gymnastics gym, or track.
I'm not ready for her to wear it alone yet. Can she layer over it?
Of course. A dark T-shirt or tank in black, navy, or gray layers nicely over it. Follow your studio's or team's dress code, and let her wear it in whatever way she feels comfortable. A white or light-colored top will let the blue show through, so in that case we recommend YUKIZAKURA White.
Can it be worn under a white PE uniform or light-colored leotard?
We don't recommend it. RURI Blue is very vivid, so the blue will show through white or light-colored clothing. Choose YUKIZAKURA White for light outfits, and NUREBA Black for black or dark outfits. Just note that YUKIZAKURA White's pink straps are designed to be seen, so they may show under very thin white clothing.
With such a vivid color, will it bleed or stain other clothes?
The fabric has a colorfastness rating of Grade 4, meaning it resists color loss. That said, vivid colors may release a little excess dye at first, so wash it alone the first few times and keep it separate from light colors afterward. Washing inside out in cold water and avoiding bleach, tumble drying, and direct sunlight will keep the color vivid longer.
Will it shift during tumbles or handstands?
Just like YUKIZAKURA White and NUREBA Black, the double-X back straps spread the pull across the back, and the 27% spandex fabric hugs the body. It's less likely to slide off or ride up than standard-strap styles. Choosing the size that matches her height gives the best fit.
Can she wear it at competitions or dance recitals?
Dress codes vary by event. Some require matching team uniforms, or don't allow visible undergarments or bright colors, so please check the rules in advance. If she'll wear it under a costume or uniform, we recommend NUREBA Black for dark outfits and YUKIZAKURA White for light ones. Very thin white costumes may show the pink straps, so try it on first.
How do I choose between the three colors?
It depends on her activity and how she'll wear it. To stand out at cheer, clubs, and competitions, or to wear it solo as a practice top, choose RURI Blue (Team Activity). For intense training in dance, gymnastics, and track, or under dark outfits, choose NUREBA Black (Competition Training). For everyday practice like ballet and tennis, or with light-colored practicewear, choose YUKIZAKURA White (Everyday Training). If she practices often, we recommend 1–2 in a light color and 1–2 in a dark color.
She's between two sizes. Which should I pick?
For everyday practice, size up so she can wear it longer. If she'll mainly wear it on its own and you want a neater look, choose the size that matches her current height.
She's tall for 6th grade. Will it still fit?
5XL fits girls 145–160 cm (57–63 in) tall. If she's 155 cm (61 in) or taller, please go by chest measurement: a chest of 76 cm (30 in) or less fits 5XL. If it's larger, we recommend a teen or adult size.
